As RV travelers, we’re always looking for ways to help pass the time on the open road. Listening to classics like “On the Road Again” or “Take it Easy” will only get you so far. Luckily, we’ve discovered podcasts, a great source of engaging stories and interviews to while away the hours on America’s highways.
Podcasts
If you’re not familiar with podcasts, they are basically like radio shows that you can download on your smart phone. The great thing about this is that you can listen to them even if you don’t get cell signal. Also, podcasts are “On Demand” so they can be listened to on your schedule — not when a Radio Station decides to air it. And even better than satellite radio, all our favorite podcasts are free!

Beyond the Wheel
First, we are excited to share a new podcast that is focused on the people and ideas that make RVing great. Kenny (Moving Forward Adventures) and Sean co-host the Beyond The Wheel podcast and have some great topics and guests lined up including innovative products like RV SnapPad’s and Battle Born Lithium batteries, as well as great campgrounds like 4 Paws Kingdom, the first and only dog dedicated campground in the US.
The Dave Ramsey Show
We are huge fans of Dave Ramsey, author of “The Total Money Makeover”. The Dave Ramsey Show started on a single radio station back in 1992. He takes calls and shares practical answers for life’s tough money questions.
Serial
Serial is a podcast from the creators of This American Life, hosted by Sarah Koenig. Serial tells one story — a true story — over the course of a season. Season 1 examines the crime and conviction of a murder in Baltimore, Season 2 covered the story of Bowe Bergdahl, and Season 3 has just started chronicling a range of cases from a year inside a typical American courthouse.

In this podcast from NPR, Guy Raz dives into the stories behind some of the world’s best known companies. How I Built This weaves a narrative journey about innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists—and the movements they built.
We recently listened to the story of the New Belgium Brewing Company, makers of Fat Tire beer. Now one of the largest craft brewers in the U.S. It started out in the basement of founders after a bike trip through Belgium.
