Shop “RV Local” With TechnoRV

See all the best Black Friday Deals for RV Gear!

What better place to fill your technology needs than to purchase them from a business owned and operated by full-time RVers? Eric and Tami Johnson, the owners of Techno RV, are full time RVers, and personally test and use all the products offered on their site. We’ve met them personally and wholeheartedly endorse them!

Business Model

One of the things that really impressed us about TechnoRV is their business model. It is built on three pillars: educating customers, providing great prices, and supporting their products after the sale. You can’t go wrong with a slogan like “Learn Here. Buy Here. Get Support Here.” Their prices are competitive with bigger stores and Amazon, but you have a real person providing support after the sale. Even better, a full-time RVer!

Products

Some of TechnoRV’s most popular products include:

    • RV GPS
    • WiFi Boosters
    • Cellular Boosters
    • Electrical Protection Systems
    • Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems

Customer Satisfaction

In addition to their online business, they attend several RV rallies every year where they stay in touch with the RV community. This gives them the unique opportunity to be available for customers in person. They also bring a few of their most popular products so customers can get a hands-on view of them before buying.  Click here to see their upcoming schedule.

I was fortunate enough to catch up to them at the Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa, FL. In the video below, Eric tells me a little bit about the company and their mission.

Still not convinced? Check out all of the 5 star reviews on their Facebook page.

Florida RV SuperShow 2018

If you’ve been following our YouTube Channel, you know that we spent several days at the Florida RV SuperShow last week. You might be wondering if we’re in the market for a new RV. The answer to that is no. So, why would we attend an RV show if we’re not planning on an RV purchase? Read on and we’ll share why we enjoyed it so much, or just watch this video and see for yourself what all the fuss was about.

Vendors

There were two vendor halls jam-packed with over 450 booths at the Florida RV SuperShow. Parts, accessories, and gadgets galore! One of our favorite vendors was TechnoRV. The owners, Eric and Tami Johnson, are full-time RVers who test and use all the products they sell. To learn more, watch this short interview.

In addition, there were numerous campgrounds from around the country. Many of them offered special offers and discounts too. After talking to many of them our list of places to visit is getting so long!

Seminars

Topics this year included Basic RV Maintenance, RV Tire & Safety, Habitat for Humanity Care-A-Vanner Program, and RV 101. One of the best was the RV Tire & Safety seminar presented by RV Safety & Education Foundation (RVSEF), an organization dedicated to providing professional and objective RV education with a focus on consumer safety. They conduct an annual RV Technical Education & Safety Conference. This year it will be held in Elizabethtown, KY Sept 27 – Oct 1, 2018, and offers courses on Tire Safety, Weight Safety, Propane Systems, and Concealed Weapons for RVers just to name a few. Click here for more information. Another great presentation was from Habitat for Humanity on their Care-A-Vanner program that supports traditional Habitat home building projects. Building projects are generally two weeks long, and Habitat provides tools, ladders, instruction, and supervision. No experience is necessary. Click here for more information.

Entertainment

There were so many entertainers walking around the show. From musicians to comedic pirates, there was something to keep the young and young-at-heart entertained. Watch the video above to see a sampling of the amazing talent!

RV’s

You obviously can’t have an RV show without the RVs, more than 1,500 in the case of the Florida RV SuperShow! We toured several and even were invited to attend the media tour of the new Jayco Embark, a 37′ Class A Motorhome (click here to see the video). This RV has everything you’d expect in a Motorhome, with a smaller size to fit in National and State Parks. We fell in love with the new Heartland Landmark Louisville Fifth Wheel (click here to see the video). Finally, we had a blast touring the new 2018 Airstream models (click here to see the video). If you’d like to learn more about saving for your RV purchase, budgeting for the RV lifestyle, earning an income on the road, and minimizing expenses on RV travel check out our book Full-Time RV Finance(available on Amazon). Why You Should Attend An RV Show

RV Shows are great events to attend even if you aren’t in the market for a new RV! There’s really something for everyone and we always enjoy them. Two of our favorite shows to attend are the Florida RV Super Show in Tampa, FL in January and America’s Largest RV Show in Hershey, PA every September. Smaller shows are great too and we’ve been to several across the country. Here are some of the reasons we recommend attending a show even if you aren’t in the market for a new RV:

Seminars

What better way to learn about RVing than from your fellow travelers? Choose from topics like “Basic RV Maintenance” or “RV Trip Planning” and get all your questions answered in a relaxed and unpressured environment. Many of the vendors also conduct live demonstrations so you can see products in action. And guess what? We present seminars at several shows too!

Come out and meet us at an RV Show. We provide seminars at several RV shows throughout the year. We'd love to see you at one.

We keep this list updated, so please let us know if  you’ll be attending one of the same shows as us. We’d love to meet you!

Vendors

The larger shows have every kind of  vendor you can imagine: RV accessories, Satellite TV experts, and numerous campgrounds. We’ve received expertise from someone on a satellite tv system we already had, purchased a new sign for our “yard”, bought a custom RV mattress (that they later delivered), and got offers for free stays at various campgrounds all at one show. The Florida RV Super Show has two buildings full of vendors with many more outdoors and most often they offer great deals! Click here to see our list of 17 essential items for every RV.

Factory Representatives

Most of the RV shows will have representatives from the various RV manufacturers right there to talk to you and answer your questions. Talking to dealers is one thing, but let’s face it, they are trying to make a sale. The factory reps can tell you what can be done (or can’t be done) at the factory level as far as options are concerned.

We were very fortunate to be able to talk to the Arctic Fox representative at the Outdoor Expo in Scottsdale, Arizona last year. We went back all three days with more questions, and each time he was very patient and helpful. On that last day, we purchased it. Learn why we choose the Arctic Fox.
